Southern Emergency Response Training and Logistics Center

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Ministry of Education collaborated to build the Training Center at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology and Minister of EPA, Chang Tzi-Chin, attended an anniversary event specially. SERT is the first professional training ground in Taiwan established exclusively for toxic chemical disaster preparedness and response. About 2200 trainees has participated the training (statistics until the end of July) since August 3th, 2021. Specially, SERT is Cooperative Learning Centers of TEEX and plan to recruit international students from East Asia in the future. In Taiwan, it is said that there are 3743 toxic chemical substance handlers. There are four Response and consulting organizations which handlers should complet training and post certificate number online according to Regulations on the Management of Emergency Responders of the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances.
